Energy Assessment
If you want to preserve our environment and save on your energy bills, you need to begin with an assessment of your facility. Calvert-Jones’ Green Team will analyze your facility to assess your needs and how efficiently those needs are being met by your energy and environmental systems. With this understanding of your facility, we identify the changes you can make, both large and small, to reduce your energy consumption, water consumption, and carbon footprint – all while improving your indoor environment, your operations, your productivity and health, and your bottom line.
Assessment Goals:
- Identify areas to substantially reduce carbon-footprint, or the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere as a result of excess energy used.
- Reduce the unnecessary operating hours of energy using equipment, such as HVAC and Lighting.
- Reduce the load or the need for energy.
- Increase the operating efficiency of energy-using equipment.
What the Assessment Entails:
- A half-day walk-through of your facility and a meeting with your facility operations staff.
- Review and analysis of all utility invoices, including rate structures.
- Comparison to energy standards (using industry-approved standards, including ASHRAE, EnergyStar, and BOMA) based on the usage of similar facilities.
- Inspections and assessment of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and water systems.
- Review of all lighting systems.
- Review of building structure and building envelope for best energy practices.
- Review of all control strategies and controllers.
- Written report of findings and recommendations for improvement
